YOUTH OPPORTUNITIES
“For Young People, With Young People, By Young People”
During the current Rotary Year, we have been very successful in breaking new ground, and to some extent we need to have a period of consolidation in the months ahead. However, there are a few new ideas that we would like to develop whilst taking into consideration the fore-mentioned motto.
1. R.Y.L.A.
We are supporting R.Y.L.A. in 2010
Talk to your school OR
contact the web site/Club for details of 2010 activities
2. Music Festival.
The Rotary Club of Wednesbury supported this event
in 2009, and will do so in 2010
3. Interact.
With the chartering of two new Interact Clubs at Wood Green High School and Stuart Bathurst Catholic High School, we continue to support both Clubs and ensure they go from strength to strength in building their membership and carrying out their projects.
4. Joe Clews Award.
Each of the Senior Schools were again requested to select a worthy recipient of this award and the winners will be invited to our meeting in March 2010 to receive their certificates and cheques. Wodensburgh and Stuart Bathurst High Schools have selected their winner
5. Young Chef. We will try again to find a candidate to
represent us in the District Competition.
6. Rotakids.
This project is aimed at the Primary Schools in the Wednesbury Learning Community. The children who join Rotakids meet once a month to carry out service projects to benefit their community and their school.
7. Sandwell Young Carers
Regular contact is made with the Adults to see how we can help.
